Voice of Indrahanians - Alice @ Indrahana

Standing alone to give a talk had me madly petrified

Thoughts of home assignments torment, I felt terrified

Ten long years since lapsed and realization sets in

My confidence and leadership skills were totally missing !

The search for good clean fun begins

My priority for mind fitness goes beyond the shin

Fully aware that before dementia sets in

Find a club to direct my senses reigns supreme

Which club? – I have to seriously select

Indrahana 2 decades old, earns my due respect

Where camaraderie attitudes every member project

Great values and charming friends just seems perfect

Indrahana - like family members take good care

Every experience is gleefully shared

Good cheer and laughter fills the air

My journey onwards a wondrous toasting affair

I must confess - my icebreaker was not one

First speech shook me, made my mind undone

Evaluator mindful words well crafted finely spun

My mission towards CTM goal thus begun

My journey was fun and made swift

And I earn a CTM, my first rewarding gift

ATM bronze and silver follow like a breeze

Boost my confidence to all time lift!

I consider Indrahana the second home

Where Queen’s English dreams are truly hone

Great champions of Indrahana do set the tone

Be shining stars for Indrahanians to clone

Welcome to Indrahana - where age does not matter.

With longevity there’s wisdom and good chatter

Come enjoy the thrill of claps, and witty cheer

Savour Indrahana magic through the years !

Ice Breaker Speech: Myself by Ang Poon Kenn

Good evening everyone, my name is Ang Poon Kenn, everyone calls me Ken. Today, the title of my speech is about Myself. As far as I could recall, me parents were not staying with me since I was 3 years old; they went overseas and started their new working life for some reason, and did not come back ever since. I'm staying with my grandmother, and she look after my elder brother, younger sister and me. I actually have not met my parents for more than 18 years and only communicate through the phone and social media. Can you imagine, 15 years of not seeing your own parents? 18 years of not having parents around the house, school and life. My grandmother take over my mother's role, she does all the housework for us. She takes care of us. My relative, they are not rich but they sponsor me for my education and pocket money. However, even though I have the love from my grandmother and relatives, I felt that I'm different from others. They have parents accompany them during...

Meeting on 27 October 2009

Dear Indrahanians, Greetings to you. Last meeting we had one of the most unusual Table Topics Sessions I've ever attended. It was conducted by Jen. She gave out a few topics & participants were supposed to tell us a lie based on those topics. Basically Jen wanted us to tell a Tall Tale. A tall tale is a story with unbelievable elements but told in such a way that it could be true. So you can believe it or not. During the session, you could tell who are the true liars (a.k.a. Dominic), those who can't a tell a lie in their honest-to-goodness life (a.k.a. Alice), those who try but didn't quite succeed (a.k.a. Dr Choong), and those who are probably true blue liars - like our guest Victor and our very own Yuan. For the record, Yuan won the Table Topics Award that night. Congrats to Yuan for being such a good liar! And kudos to Jen for such an entertaining session. Those of us who were present had a 'belly' good laugh. Anan gave his ice breaker speech. Those of you f...
