A message from Lay Kun, our Division B Governor 2011-2012

It is our priviledge to have an exceptional leader as our president, Lim Thian Seng, and outstanding members such as Victor Ong in our Taman Indrahana Family. This message below is from Lay Kun, Division B Governor 2011-2012 to show her appreciation to both members as they have played a huge part in sponsoring, guiding the newly founded club - Sunway University Toastmasters Club.

Dear Thian Seng & all the Indrahanians,

Happy evening to you!

Division B has just came out from "the labour room" and we are cuddling a baby in our arm right now. :)

Division B would like to convey our sincere thanks to the initiative and continuous help given to the Division
in the chartering of Sunway University Toastmasters Club. The baby club is born and we just can't thank
this person enough.

He has given this new club lead to Taman Indrahana through Passion Drive 1 at the beginning of this term.
He was the bridge that has connected us to Dr Nagiah, the Head (Academic) of Management & Economics at
Sunway University. Since then, we managed to progress and work steadily to prepare for the chartering
of this club. He has never missed any milestone that has been set and this has smoothen the process.

Thank you very much Victor! We truly appreciate all your kind help.

Not to forget the ever supportive Indrahanians whom has helped a lot especially in the demo meeting
and still helping from time to time. You have shown the true team spirit as a Toastmaster, and you are
a role model to many of us in the Division.

To all the Indrahanians and Thian Seng, Division B is proud of you and you have certainly helped in raising
the standard of Division B. Please keep up the great spirit of servant leadership and Indrahana will surely
continue to SOAR even higher, and nurture more future great leaders for Division B, District 51 and beyond.

Taman Indrahana Toastmasters Club, once again, a BIG thank you to you! Let's continue to guide and nurture
this baby of ours.

Cheers,
Lay Kun

Ice Breaker Speech: Myself by Ang Poon Kenn

Good evening everyone, my name is Ang Poon Kenn, everyone calls me Ken. Today, the title of my speech is about Myself. As far as I could recall, me parents were not staying with me since I was 3 years old; they went overseas and started their new working life for some reason, and did not come back ever since. I'm staying with my grandmother, and she look after my elder brother, younger sister and me. I actually have not met my parents for more than 18 years and only communicate through the phone and social media. Can you imagine, 15 years of not seeing your own parents? 18 years of not having parents around the house, school and life. My grandmother take over my mother's role, she does all the housework for us. She takes care of us. My relative, they are not rich but they sponsor me for my education and pocket money. However, even though I have the love from my grandmother and relatives, I felt that I'm different from others. They have parents accompany them during

On 9 th September 2014, members and guests of Taman Indrahana Toastmasters Club turned up for the meeting in a warm manner, as everyone celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival – the theme of the meeting – together. The meeting room was decorated with lanterns with mooncakes served along with the refreshments. The meeting started off with the opening address by our president, Ting Pei Lim, CC. Before she ended her speech, Pei Lim took out her ukulele and played 月亮代表我得心 “The Moon Represents My Heart” by the late Teresa Teng, with the audience started singing along. Technology came in handy when some members took out their smartphones and searched for the lyrics of the song.
