26 February 2011  Chan Weng May and Victor Ong represented Taman Indrahana in the Area B2 competition . And they won, taking first place for both contests, i.e. International Speech and Table Topics respectively. Both of our representatives gave a good account of themselves and the club is proud that we have such accomplished speakers..Special thanks to a small band of fans spearheaded by Chrristine and Chee Yan who had been extremely supportive. 19 March 2011  In Division B Contest , Weng May was the 2nd runner-up in the International Speech Contest; while Victor, clinched the title 1st Runner-up in the table topic contest.  May and Victor, we are proud of you! You both keep the Indrahana flag flying high!

Happy Birthday March Baby

Dearest LeAnn, LeAnn is our big sister in Taman Indrahana, who is always very encouraging. She is rich in her knowledge, wealthy in her wisdom, generous in her contribution. We love her sincerity that always come with her warm smiles!  LeAnn, may all your dreams come true, stay happy and healthy! We love you!

It was more than a Guest Nite!

Believe it of not. it must have something to do with the dates!!! On 11/01/11, we had 14 guests and now on 22/02/11, we had 13 guests at our meeting!!! Both these were just our routine meeting and not a "Guests' Nite". That's simply incredible!!!! The best part is that 4 of them were accepted as members on 22/02/11. Thanks to Suat Hoong of MAICSA TMC; Past Pres Paru and Pres Kay for introducing these 4 new members to the club. Thanks also to IPDG Ritchie for introducing one of the 13 guests who thoroughly enjoyed themselves on 22/02/11.

International Speech & Table Topic Contest@25 Jan

Indrahanians and guests (and role-players too) flocked to IJM Cobra Club on Tuesday, January 25 to witness the club-level International Speech and Table Topics contest. There were a more than decent crowd of 32 who came, of which seventeen were Indrahanians. Peggy Yeap was the Organizing Chair and as one would expect from an Indrahanian, it was superbly organized. In the International Speech contest , there were five participants who recited their speeches in the only way they know how – splendid delivery, sublime content and superior entertainment value. At least that’s how I see it! When the results were announced, Weng May came out tops with her speech “Not Now”. First runner-up was Thian Seng with his “The Dream Stealer” speech and second runner-up was Victor Ong with his “A Life of Failure” speech. Table Topics was next, and this time, the topic given was a lengthy one but again, all five contestants acquitted themselves very well. Victor Ong was the club champion, first ru...

Successful Event with Loghan's Workshop@8 Jan 2011

Successful Event with 'Unlocking the Keys to Contests' Workshop by DTM Loghan, on 8 Jan 2011 Dear Indrahanians, I'm happy to report to you that today we had a successful day with our workshop, 'Unlocking the keys to contests'. I think it must have been quite some time since Taman Indrahana organised a public workshop (if my memory serves me right). Certainly for this term, this is the first time we are organising one. I'm happy to say that we must have hit at least 100 ticket sales (we shall await KK's report), which means that we were able to bring a very meaningful & relevant workshop to some 90 participants at least. My personal target was 120 to 150 tix sold - but as we went along, we realised that we were competing against Div P's TLI2, many company functions, & many people still on leave. So I think I'm just grateful for what we achieved:-) Ho ho ha ha ha! Coming from the champion horse's mouth, Loghan therefore played a bi...

Happy Birthday January Babies!

Happy Birthday to our January babies... Robert, Dom, Alice, Chee Yan, Choi Woon and May!   Out of the six champions of the year, three of them are our past presidents. Robert (1994/95), Dominic(2003/04) and Choi Woon(2008/09), brought the club to greater height during their term of service. Each of them has their uniqueness that all members can relate to... ROBERT is cheerful, DOM is humorous, CHOI WOON is meticulous.  What about ALICE? She keeps us inspired that learning is a life-long journey. We love her humor, so authentic and heart-warming that touches the heart of everyone! CHEE YAN is the youngest member of the club, carried with him the maturity that speaks beyond his age. We are impressed with your value in life and certainly proud to have you with the club, Chee Yan! And MAY, a very meticulous and responsible secretary for the club, that we are all impressed by her thoroughness. We love h...

Happy Birthday Dec Babies!

Happy Birthday to KK and Weng May!  Our past president, who is always optimistic about life. He is a coach, who is passionate in helping young people achieve their dream in career progression.  Someone who walks his talk, that's KK. A pretty lady who is relatively new in the club, but not a new toastmaster. Someone who looks quiet, but make an impression when she speaks.  Someone who has the quiet and vocal presence, that's Weng May. Stay healthy and happy! Lots of love, from Taman Indrahana
